Janice Bashford

Janice Bashford is a Partner at Arnold & Porter, with more than 15 years of experience in building strategic partnerships across a range of issues to help clients navigate the legislative process. In her prior role as Legislative Director and Chief Counsel to Congresswoman Karen Bass, Ms. Bashford played a key role in negotiating and advancing legislation on issues including judiciary, appropriations, foreign affairs, child welfare, civil and human rights, voting rights, immigration, health, labor, and the COVID-19 response. Other positions she has held include working for Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, US Senator John Kerry, and on the field operations team of the 2008 Obama-Biden campaign.
